We began our journey in a turn of the century firehouse at the corner of Annunciation and Terpsichore Streets in 2005 with the idea to bring hearty, fresh Napa style American cuisine to the culinary scene of New Orleans.
The firehouse was painstakingly restored with the concept of "FIRE a restaurant" in mind. It was an instant hit with the savy and discerning dining enthusiast of New Orleans. We hosted many private parties, celebrities and holiday events that was highlighted in various entertainment magazines. Team Fire was getting the kinks worked out and there was a lot of buzz on the street.
August 29, 2005 - Katrina - Once the hurricane hit everyone scattered to save themselves, their family and what property they could load up. The location where the restaurant was located didn't flood but was out of power for weeks. No power allowed everything to spoil. Although we had it better than a lot of people, it was a big task and team effort to get the restaurant open. We were very proud to be one of the first restaurants to open back up to not only keep the business afloat but to give hope to a city that had been "punched in the gut".
Although the city began to see life again it was severely damaged. Most people were trying to get their lives back in order and eating out was not a top priority. As a family we had to make a hard choice: Give everyone a big hug and call it quits OR fight to keep Fire thriving. The vast majority of the team overwhelming said "Lets Fight On". In Summer of 2007 we packed up and headed along I-10 East to Grayton Beach, Florida.
